Studio FAQ

Common questions for the 4th floor studios in CMB and for CMA 5.131

Q: Who can use the studios?

A: Upper division and graduate students enrolled in an RTF production class. And faculty too.

Q: How do I see what times are open and then submit a request?

A: Review the rules then follow the link at the bottom. Once viewing the schedules, note the monthly calendar links at the bottom to find specific dates and times.

Q: On the online reservation form, how can I request different times on different days?

A: You'll need to make three different requests (sorry). If you want the same time block on consecutive days, use the “recurring” info part of the reservation form.

Q: Is there a limit to the amount of time I can reserve or use?

A: Generally 3 days per project is fair, but if there are no other requests pending you may sign up for more time. We will always try to accommodate as many requests as possible.

Q: I just need a place to do casting or rehearsing, can I use the studios for that?

A: Yes, but if there is another request that involves shooting we may try to find you another space.

Q: If all the RTF studios are booked, where else can I go to reserve a room?

A: The College of Communication schedules many of the rooms in CMA, go to http://communication.utexas.edu/room_resv/index.html to see what's available and note that you may need an instructor/faculty member to “sponsor” your request.
