RTF Alum Laura Dunn recently won an IFC Truer Than Fiction Independent Spirit Award for her documentary “The Unforeseen.” Her first feature film, “The Unforeseen” was executive produced by Robert Redford and Terrence Malick and addresses the clash between developers and environmentalists over Barton Creek. The film premiered at Sundance last year. Laura Dunn's film work has screened internationally in film festivals, art galleries, theaters, universities, churches and union halls. Honors include a Rockefeller Media Arts Fellowship, Student Academy Award, and Yale's Trumbull College Fine Arts Prize.

RTF lecturer and alum Ya'Ke Smith recently won a HBO Short Film Award at the 2007 American Black Film Festival for his short film “The Second Coming.” The story of an estranged father who's returned home to make amends with his son, “The Second Coming” has garnered Ya'ke several other awards, including a recent Student Academy Award Nomination. RTF Alum John Moore recently won 1st prize in the 2007 National Geographic News Photos of the year for his coverage of the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
