"Gen Art Film Festival" (NY)
Festival is curated, non-competitive championing American independent film and its audiences.

"The Method Fest" (CA)
The Method Fest is looking for story-driven films (narrative), featuring strong acting performances. The Method Fest Independent Film Festival prides itself in being the only film festival in the world that acknowledges the actor's contribution to independent films and has screened new works of new artists, as well as career-defining performances of name actors.

"Rooftop Films" (Summer, Brooklyn NY)
The 2005 Summer Series consists of 16 shows, one every Friday night all summer long from June 10th through September 9th plus a special show on Monday, the 4th of July. All shows take place outdoors in New York City—either in parks, along piers, on boats traveling around Manhattan, in historical locations, or, best of all, on rooftops overlooking the city. People see more short films at Rooftop than at the next three largest short film festivals in New York combined, so if you are interested in having your film shown to large crowds in some of the most spectacular urban open air venues for cinema in the world, submit your films now.

"Northwestern University's Annual Flicker Film Festival" (Chicago)
The Flicker Film Festival showcases student films.

"First Look Student Film Festival" (Denver, CO)
Sponsored by the Independent Film Channel. Short films 30 minutes or less.

"Telluride IndieFest" (Colorado)
Short films and Documentaries are encouraged as well as Experimental and Animation films and videos! Screenplays should be no more than 120 pages. (recommendation only)

"Student Academy Awards" (NY)
The Student Academy Awards is a national competition conducted by the Academy and the Academy Foundation. Each year over 300 college and university film students from all over the United States compete for awards and cash grants, with films being judged in four categories: animation, documentary, narrative and alternative. An outstanding student filmmaker from outside the U.S. is honored each year as well. The presentation ceremony is a popular event that is annually attended by a capacity audience in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

"New Jersey International Film Festival" (Brunswick, NJ)
Winners will be showcased at a festival at Rutgers University. All formats and genres accepted.

"UNCG Carolina Film and Video Festival" (NC)
CFVF is proud to cater to student and first time filmmakers with little to no budgets. This is a student-run festival and our goal is to continue our long-running support of student work.

"SXSW" (Austin TX)
The SXSW FILM CONFERENCE AND FESTIVAL emphasizes on all aspects of the art and business of independent filmmaking. The Festival has gained international acclaim for the quality of its programming with a special focus on emerging talents who bask in being included in the company of the cinematic greats whose work is regularly presented.

"San Francisco International Film Festival" (CA)
CA celebration of international and independent film. the festival highlights current trends in international film and video production with an emphasis on work that has not yet secured US distribution.

"Sundance Film Festival" (Utah)
Sundance is now considered one of the top film festivals in the world, along with similar events in Cannes, France; Venice, Italy; and Toronto.

"Cannes Film Festival" (Cannes, France)
The Board of Directors chooses and invites the films which will be presented in Competition or Out of Competition. Only the films that meet the following conditions may be chosen for invitation in the Official Selection:
1. Films that have been produced during the twelve months preceding the Festival;
2. Films whose exhibition has been limited only to their country of origin;
3. Films that have not been presented in any other international motion picture event;
4. Films that have not been exhibited on Internet;
5. Films that respect the aims of the Festival as defined in Article 1;
6. Short films that do not exceed 15 minutes in length.
