Cinemakids 2007

For the vast majority of the twentieth century, young people were marginalized from filmmaking practices because of the expense, weight, and technical knowledge related to the equipment used. Today, however, film cameras fit in the palm of your hand, personal computers come with editing software, and more kids are making movies than at any other point in history.

Cinemakids was introduced in 2000 to honor young filmmakers who create visual art, as well as to motivate other youth to become culturally active through media production. Now in its eighth year, Cinemakids is a two-day weekend program that includes screenings of youth-made films, as well as workshops for young people in film production.

It is with regret that Cinemakids announces its hiatus for 2008. Due to scheduling conflicts, it will not be possible for us to hold our annual screening event and workshops this coming September.

But we will be back! Look here for further information about Cinemakids 2009.

Thanks very much for your support.
