How to Connect Sound Devices 744T Digtial Audio Recorder to Denecke Time Code Slate

Sound Device 744T DAR

Denecke TS 2 Time Code Slate

1 XL-LX Lemo 5 pin to XLR-M/XLR F Cable

1 XLR-F balanced to ¼” Un-balanced Cable

Procedure:

Step 1) Make sure the power is turned off on the Time Code Slate and 744T DAR

Step 2) Connect XL-LX Lemo 5 pin to XLR-M/XLR F Cable to Time Code Connector of the 744T DAR (See Fig. 1)

3) Connect XLR M (Labled “TC Out” ) of the XL-LX cable to XLR F/ ¼” un-balanced (See Fig’s. 2 & 3)

4) Connect ¼” un-balanced connector into ¼” F jack of Time Code Slate (See Fig. 4)

Step 5) Figure 5 shows the completed connection sequence:

Step 6) Power up the 744T DAR ( DO NOT POWER UP TC SLATE)

Step 7) Go onto Menu of the 744T and scroll down until you come to the “Time Code Settings” and select what settings you want to use.

Step 8) Once you have selected your time code settings power up the “Time Code slate”. By waiting to power up the TC Slate last you can then Jam sync TC to the slate via the selected settings in the TC Menus of the 744T DAR.
