SXSW 2011: RTF Faculty Panel Presentations
In addition to sending a large number of filmmakers to the 2011 SXSW Festival, the department has faculty members participating in the event as well. Professor Sharon Strover and Assistant Professor Andrew Garrison each will be leading panels this year.

Strover's panel, titled "Why the FCC Can’t Please Anyone – Net Neutrality Blues," will examine the recent developments around net neutrality, one of the more misunderstood principles among the crowd of odd phrasings generated within contemporary telecommunications practice and policy. The panel will take place Monday, March 14, at 11am in the Town Lake Ballroom of the Radisson Hotel. For more details, visit the panel's page on the SXSW website.
Garrison will be leading a panel about audio production called "Getting Better Audio - Production and Post." The panel will include a production mixer and a post-production mixer/designer to talk about esthetics of audio and everything from double system recording with DSLR's to Pro Tools templates. For more information about the panel, visit the SXSW website.
