Alex Smith hails from Montana. He, along with his twin brother Andrew, co-wrote and co-directed the award-winning feature film, The Slaughter Rule, starring Ryan Gosling, David Morse, and Amy Adams. He just sold a 'pitch' to the F/X Network 'in the room'-- an hour long crime drama set in the modern-day west, and has been hired to adapt the comic book series “Grendel”. He has written scripts for Fox Searchlight, ESPN Films, Columbia Pictures, HBO, and Disney. He recently adapted the graphic novel Son of the Gun by the legendary cult filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky. Alex teaches Screenwriting and Directing at the University of Texas at Austin and is the Creative Director of UTFI, the University of Texas Film Institute.
