"SPECIAL EQUIPMENT" FUNDING

The Facilities and Technology Committee meets throughout the year to review special equipment requests from faculty members. The first call to faculty for equipment requests is usually in late September or early October.

Special equipment funding is intended primarily to support technology that faculty use in their scholarly and creative work, as opposed to technology used in the classroom, and is most often given for computer hardware and/or software purchases.

Priority is given to equipment requests from permanent faculty, but requests from lecturers employed at least 50% time are also considered.

All requests should include specifications and costs for each item. All requests approved by the Facilities and Technology Committee also require approval by the College’s Tech Team, who will be available to consult with faculty about specifications, sources and any other relevant considerations. More information about this consultation and approval process will be sent out to all faculty members whose special equipment requests are approved.
