UT speech major Michael Barker is in fact the very well-spoken Co-President, with longtime partner Tom Bernard, of Sony Pictures Classics.  For the last twenty years, no distributor has brought more high quality films from more top tier filmmakers to the American public including CROUCHING TIGER, all of Pedro Almodovar’s work, and Woody Allen’s current smash MIDNIGHT IN PARIS.  Barker’s return to campus for the Master Class was a triumphant one 24 hrs after adding two more Oscars to Sony’s vast trophy shelf, Best Doc for INSIDE JOB and Best Foreign Language Film for IN A BETTER WORLD.
