RTF At Sundance

Alumni and faculty head to Park City

If you find yourself at Sundance this January, make sure to check out the following films:

Kat Candler, an RTF lecturer, will premiere her short "Hellion," selected from over four thousand submissions. The film is an RTF affair: it was produced by alum Kelly Williams and shot by alum and fellow lecturer Drew Xanthopoulos.  RTF alum Ashlyn Fielder served as production designer, and former lecturer Eric Friend was the sound designer. Kat is an award-winning filmmaker with several shorts and two features under her belt. Watch her short "Lovebug," or explore her filmography at candlerproductions.com.

RTF alum David Zellner returns to Sundance this year with KID-THING, the second Zellner Bros feature to premiere there. David and Nathan describe KID-THING as "a fever-dream fable about Annie, a rebellious girl whose existence is devoid of parental guidance. She spends her time roaming the land, shoplifting, vandalizing and making prank phone calls. Her routine is broken one day while playing in the woods; she hears an old woman calling from a mysterious hole in the ground, asking for help. Scared and untrusting of the unseen stranger, Annie deliberates on her course of action." Check out their award-winning shorts on their website

RTF Alum and former teacher Kyle Henry's "Fourplay: Tampa," will also screen. The film was shot by RTF alum and current professor PJ Raval, and edited by RTF alum David Fabelo. Kyle Henry also edited WHERE SOLDIER'S COME FROM, fellow alumni Heather Courtney's documentary, which was nominated recently for an Independent Spirit Award.  Learn more about "Tampa" and the rest of the Fourplay series on its website.
