Michelle Monk oversees the RTF department office and is responsible for budget management, course scheduling, lecturer appointments, coordination of the awarding of scholarships and internships, working with RTF publications and events staff, and miscellaneous department projects of all kinds. She also organizes faculty promotion and award nominations and assists with the faculty hiring process.
Michelle comes to RTF after 10 years spent in academic advising and undergraduate retention programs. She has a BA in Sociology from Texas A&M University and a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from UT. Michelle enjoys working in an environment that allows her to work independently and to feed the part of her that loves to organize, plan, and create. Working with the talented faculty, staff and students in RTF is a pleasure for her and she is looking forward to the friendships she will develop.
In her free time, Michelle likes to spend time with friends and work around her condo. She has a cat named Aggie and a lively dog named Sprite, and has a large extended family mostly concentrated in Texas and Washington. D.C.
