Prerequisites
Must be an RTF major with a UT GPA of at least a 2.25 and have upper-division standing. Prerequisites: RTF 333.

Students who fail to attend the first class day will be dropped.
Course description
Complete a feature-length screenplay (90-120 pages) by the end of the semester. Incompletes will not be given.
Read and comment on their classmates’ work on a weekly basis.
Alex is a UT alumnus who received his MFA in Writing in 1996. He is both a screenwriter and director who, with his brother, has written screenplays for Disney Pictures, Columbia Studios and HBO Pictures/Warner Brothers. He is currently working on an adaptation of stories by Chris Offutt. As a filmmaker, Alex's co-written and co-directed The Slaughter Rule premiered at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival, was nominated for an Independent Sprit Award for Best First Feature, and was released in theaters nationally. Alex has taught screenwriting in Los Angeles and worked on numerous film sets
