Course description

This class integrates history, theory and practice of avant garde filmmaking. The immersion into both the history and practice of experimental filmmaking encourages filmmakers to think of their practice of filmmaking as an alive and evolving process. Risk is encouraged. The class is designed to build practical, conceptual and critical filmmaking knowledge. The discoveries students make about cinematic technique will serve them with the realm of narrative and experimental filmmaking. Students will shoot on Super8 Film and edit digitally.
