Course description

This course is intended to provide students in communication with a theoretical and practical knowledge of research methods. Students participating in this course will become familiar with issues, concepts and techniques relevant to a variety of empirical research methods. Students will learn how to engage in research, as well as how to critique others’ research. No prior coursework or experience in statistics is required to do well in this course, but students should be prepared to learn elementary statistical concepts and procedures. However, more emphasis will be placed on the logic of underlying social science research than on computation.
