PREREQUISITES
Must be an RTF major with a UT GPA of at least a 2.25 and have upper-division standing. The following coursework with a grade of at least C: RTF 333.
CONSENT REQUIREMENTS
For RTF 369 (Features) consent purposes, students should submit the following via e-mail to Richard Lewis by:
In the e-mail, please list the following:
1. Your name
2. Your UT EID
3. Your phone #
4. Your e-mail address
5. Your anticipated graduation date (e.g., Dec. '05)
6. The name of your 333 TA
7. One to three loglines of feature script ideas that you're considering writing in RTF 369 during the semester. A logline means a maximum of three sentences.
Attach to the above e-mail (but also include it in the text of the e-mail as back-up):
5 - 10 pages of script/screenplay material of your choosing. It may be an excerpt from a longer piece and it makes sense to use your favorite material from 333. It is not expected that this writing sample will be from the piece you want to write over the course of the upcoming semester. PDF and/or Final Draft formats are preferable.
Consent will be based on:
1. The quality of your script sample (Does it indicate mastery of concepts taught in 333?)
2. What your TA says about your class participation in your 333 section meetings (i.e., Did you regularly read your fellow students' work? Did you participate in discussions of that material?)
3. Seniority (closeness to graduation)
Loglines will not figure into consent decisions.
CONSENT RESULTS
Consent results are listed using students’ UT EIDs. If you received consent, you are cleared to register via TEX. It is your responsibility—not the department’s—to register for this course. Also, remember to pay your fee bill on time, or you will be dropped from all your courses!

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students in RTF 369 will be expected to outline a feature-length screenplay and script the first 60 pages of that screenplay.
Course goals:
That you complete the first 60 pages of a feature-length script that will ultimately be suitable for submission to agents, production companies and/or script competitions.
That you leave this course a better writer than when you entered.
That you help your fellow classmates achieve the above two goals and vice-versa.
