PREREQUISITES

RTF 305. A grade of B or better is required in this course to take upper-division production classes. Restricted to RTF majors. It is highly recommended that students have completed RTF 317 or take it concurrently with this class.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is the threshold course to all upper-division production courses, providing students with an introduction to basic production techniques and equipment. The course covers various aspects of video and audio production and post-production. Students will be required to attend hands-on lab sections and complete two photograph sequences, a silent digital video project, and a non-dialogue digital video project.

Note: Students who have not previously taken RTF 317, Narrative Strategies, are strongly encouraged to take it concurrently with RTF 318.
