COURSE DESCRIPTION

RTF 344, Advanced Editing, is a project-oriented course for those who have previously completed the Introduction to Editing (RTF 346) or Intermediate Editing (RTF 346C) courses. Students will finish post-production (to either the offline or completed online stages, depending on the piece) on one long-format project, either a) in collaboration with the project's director, or b) by working on their own previously-shot material. The course is intended to give students, under the guidance of the instructor, a quasi-professional work experience. It will focus on the specific organizational, technical, and stylistic issues relevant to each particular project. Students are greatly encouraged to identify a possible project before the first day of class.
