COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a class in filmmaking. We study composition, lenses, rhythm, camera movement and light and how they can be used to convey meaning without dialogue. We use the restrictions of non-synch to delve into the building blocks of visual narrative. The course is taught half on film and half on digital video. There is substantial work outside the class, students should plan on an entire weekend of production work, every other weekend.
