Undergraduate Program
The Digital Media Leadership Program is a structured internship program administered through the Department of Radio-Television-Film.
Selected students will be placed in one-semester or summer internships with digital media (e.g., video gaming, web design) companies in Austin. The program aims to place students at companies that can provide close mentoring relationships with people who are interested in working with students and who are able to provide substantive work projects for the duration of the internship. By completing the program, students will not only gain work experience, but also professional confidence, abilities, leadership skills, and connections that will serve them well as they transition into their professional careers.
Course Requirements:
Students must be upper division RTF majors OR upper division students in the Digital Arts and Media Bridging Disciplines Program. Students will work in their assigned internship for a minimum of 120 hours over the course of the semester. Students must attend regular meetings held every other week (approximately 7 times during the semester).
These meetings will be from 6:00 to 7:30pm on Tuesday evenings.
Application Procedure: (DEADLINE EXTENDED!)
Students must submit the application and a resume by 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, to Carly Kocurek at carlykocurek@mail.utexas.edu. A formal interview is also required.
