2D Animation for Middle School

Online Camp

Make your imagination come to life this summer! In these one-week sessions, campers will learn the basics of 2D animation and complete a short exercise demonstrating their unique artistic style. No previous animation experience required; however, return campers are welcome.

Meets for one week, Monday–Friday, between 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm CT over Zoom. Includes breaks.

  • Pencil 2D (free animation software)
  • Zoom (free virtual conferencing app)

Alex Lopez Ahr is an animation director working between Los Angeles and Texas. A former Sundance fellow, their work focuses on comedy, coming of age, and fantasy. They have an MFA in Experimental Animation from California Institute of the Arts. When not animating or teaching, you can find them looking for interesting dogs around LA.
