Cristin Stephens is a filmmaker, photographer and activist from Philadelphia. She discovered a love for editing as she cobbled together her first short documentary for a class in visual anthropology. She has since worked on one long feature, one short film and several videos as a freelance editor and videographer. Cristin's work has centered media representations of black and brownness, of settlement communities, and has explored tenants' rights and gentrification.
Cristin was classically trained in ballet before trying all varieties of careers to end up here. She studied English Literature and Studio Art at the University of Rochester and holds an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania.
She's excited to explore the ways that narrative film can attend to the complexity of the human experience. Her favorite movie is books.
