Heather was born and raised in San Antonio Texas and holds a BA in Political Science from UT San Antonio, and a degree in Photography from San Antonio College. She has been working in independent film since 2009, primarily in the camera department, once photography proved to be too lonely for someone so comically extroverted. She moved from San Antonio to Austin in 2011 to be closer to the action.
A fan of both powerful, intelligent drama, and loud, exciting comic book films, and ashamed to admit neither, her focus is on creating interesting stories with compelling characters, regardless of the trappings of the film genre surrounding them. She strives to give life and voice to characters that feel like real people and embody those who have traditionally gone unheard and unnoticed in movies and television.
She wrote, produced, directed and starred in her first short film "Recompense", which premiered at the 2014 San Antonio Film Festival. Some of her other credits include "A Perfect Cocktail," which premiered at Cannes in 2013, and "Pop Lock & Drop It," writer, director of photography, which won the Audience Choice Award at the 2015 48 Hour Film Project.
When not reveling in all things film, she can be found camping in the woods fighting pretend zombies with foam swords.
