Jackie Ferro was born and raised in Nanuet, NY, a small suburb wedged between the Hudson River and the New Jersey state line. She wrote her first (very bad) sitcom pilot in 8th grade, and although she couldn't get the Disney Channel to buy it, she was hooked! She graduated from Yale University in 2017 with a degree in Film and Media Studies and a dual concentration in screenwriting and popular American cinema. She's passionate about public education, digital media, and funny jokes. Most of her professional experience is in documentary and educational media, with positions at YouTube, the University of Alaska Southeast, and PBS's POV | American Documentary, as well as some work with documentary filmmakers seeking to enter the online space. She writes family comedy and very silly sci-fi, and hopes to someday be the showrunner for a network or tween sitcom. She can play the ukulele on a pogo-stick and likes to end all her bios with that fact because it's the most interesting thing about her.
