
Katrina grew up outside Boston, Massachusetts, and received a BA in English and Film Studies from the University of Virginia. After two years as an editor, she obtained her MA in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her MA thesis focused on evolving reception and the process of canonization through Sweet Smell of Success (1957). She has served as the social media manager for Flow Journal, and as an article shepherd for The Velvet Light Trap. Her current research focuses on the decline of the studio system and rise of independent production. She is additionally interested in reception studies, media industries, production cultures, and media history. In her free time, Katrina enjoys following the Red Sox and frequenting the Austin Film Society.
