Kenya Gillespie
MFA Production Student
Kenya Gillespie is a filmmaker, composer, and musician from Salina, Kansas. His recent projects have sought to combine film with other artistic mediums, specifically music and photography, in order to explore issues of identity, performance, and the nature and creation of art. He is most interested in the ways in which sound and image can play off each other to create new narratives in film. Apart from this, he tries to live by Werner Herzog’s belief that all creative work “must have experience of life at its foundation.”
Kenya received an M.M. in Composition from Rice University and a B. A. in Music from Yale University.
