Laura graduated from DePaul University in Chicago in 2016 with a B.A. in History and a minor in International Politics. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on the representations of women in American World War I propaganda posters. She is interested in exploring the historical relationship between popular culture and the lives and identities of marginalized communities.
Other research interests include fan studies and the creation of fan identities, horror & science fiction movies, queer representation in film & television, and 20th-century history.
In her free time Laura likes to re-watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the millionth time, read true crime and medical history books, listen to podcasts, and peruse Instagram for cat videos.
