
Nicole Chi is a Costa Rican filmmaker, with special interest in directing and writing.
She's been awarded the Special Mention to Best Music Video in the Costa Rica International Film Festival (2014) for "No Soy Valiente" and selected for Special Screening in the Shnit International Film Festival (2018) for the music video "Forest/Mountain."
She is currently working on "Gian, or Grandma, according to my Other Grandma" a documentary about her identity as a Costa Rican - Chinese descendant and her first visit to China. Be it fiction or non-fiction, her work is deeply rooted in her personal experiences and the theme of identity and how we become ourselves. She has not found the answer yet.
She has worked as Production Coordinator in the Costa Rican feature films "La Boda del Tigre" (2018), "Ámbar" (2019), and Casting Director in "La Pasión de Nella Barrantes" (2018).
In 2019 she was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship to study Film & Media Production at UT Austin.
