Sara was born in Jeddah to Turkish parents and grew up in Ankara. Prior to joining UT, Sara worked for the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations High Commissioners for Refugees. She holds a BA in International Relations from Bilkent University and an MSc in Development Studies from Lund University, where her work focused on urban gentrification and renewal projects in Istanbul. In 2016, she directed and produced her first documentary, “My Compulsory Service” about a 29 years old pediatrician in Southeast Turkey. Sara is a dreamer, passionate about gender equality, postcolonial issues and ice cream.
