Taylor Peterson hails most recently from New York, where she spent two years working at a small non-profit and visiting as many of the City's islands and movie theaters as possible. Taylor earned her B.A. at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where she double-majored in Art and Spanish and minored in Cinema Studies. During her senior year, she conducted an independent study in cinematic canon formation in which she found herself asking more questions than she could answer, which therefore led her to graduate school. Her research interests are rooted in the canonization of films in the critical and public imaginations and related popular criticism. She is also interested in exploring how films are distributed and preserved in repertory circuits, film centers/institutes, and museums.
