William LeMasters was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. Although he was a lifelong Texas A&M fan, he surprisingly chose to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas.
Originally he was on the path to become a chemical engineer but became disillusioned with the major and switched to Radio-Television-Film. In 2018, he earned his Bachelor's in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas along with a minor in Religious Studies. His research interests include religious representations in film and television, film history and theory, the evolution of film adaptations for different generations, and the individual study of certain director's filmography, particularly F.W. Murnau, Stanley Kubrick and Yasujiro Ozu.
