PROGRAM OVERVIEW
SPRITE Refreshing Films™ is designed to showcase the talent of up-and-coming film students and to provide a national platform, powered by SPRITE®, where they can write, create, produce, and direct short films. This year SPRITE is streamlining the program to make participation much easier.  Below is an overview of the 2012 program:

  • Students from participating film schools submit short scripts (2-4 minutes) to Creative Artists Agency (CAA) regarding their proposed film projects.
  • CAA will narrow down to 10 scripts and will send to the SRF team at The Coca-Cola Company for the final selection of the 6 scripts.
  • The SRF team will choose the final 6 scripts to be transformed into films.
  • SRF will provide $10,000 to each winning Script/Team. Each winning Team will produce their own film(s) based on a timeline provided by SRITE.
  • SPRITE® will be sending each selected screenwriter to CinemaCon an industry event where they will participate in the filmmaking workshops and the SPRITE® VIP event.
  • A surprise celebrity advocate for the program will be announced at a later date.  The celebrity advocate will help promote the program nationally.
  • The 6 finished films will be placed on Sprite.com and the SPRITE® YouTube channel for a nationwide “viewing and voting” period in August.
  • SPRITE will create a :30 second National pre-feature spot highlighting the “making of” the 6 films to run in 23,000 theatres during August encouraging consumers to visit Sprite.com to view the films and vote.
  • The SPRITE Refreshing Films program will also be featured on cups, popcorn bags, movie theater displays in August.
  • To encourage repeat consumer participation, for each vote placed, consumers will be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win daily prizes (Universal 100th anniversary DVD bundles) and entered into the Grand Prize sweeps (3 night/4 day trip to Universal Studios).
  • The films will also be viewed and judged by the Green Ribbon Panel, a collection of industry experts who will judge the technical aspects of the films. The “GRP” vote will be combined with nationwide vote (each weighted equally) to determine the winner.
  • The grand prize winning film crew will receive a VIP party and screening at Universal Studios Orlando with both Coca-Cola and Universal executives.
