Admissions: MA in Media Studies
REQUIRED MATERIALS:
1. Online Application & Application Fee
Use the application at ApplyTexas.org and chose The University of Texas at Austin and Radio-Television-Film Department.
2. Statement of purpose
Upload this essay within the online application, or later from the Application Status Page. A rough guide for length would be no more than 2 pages if printed.
3. Three (3) Letters of Academic Reference
In the online application you will provide names and emails for your recommenders. After you submit the application, they will receive an email with a link to upload their letters for you.
4. Copies of Official Transcripts
The Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) requires a copy of your official transcript from each college and/or university that you have attended. U.S. applicants who have taken coursework through an Exchange Program, Semester Abroad or Study Abroad, please contact an Admissions Counselor at GIAC (512-475-7391) to determine if you need an original transcript from the foreign institution. These can be scanned and uploaded with your other required documents. Once you are admitted, you will need to send a hard copy of the official transcript. 5. Official GRE Scores
Request that your scores be sent to The University of Texas at Austin (#6882).
6. TOEFL score (or IELTS)

8. Academic Writing Sample
Upload from the Application Status Page after you submit your application. This should be no more than 25 pages long, 10-20 pages is a good length.
The deadline for Fall 2013 admission applications is December 1, 2012.
Note that you must have completed a BA or BS degree (or will have completed one by the beginning of your first semester) in order to be admitted to the MA program in RTF.
