Highlights from RTF Affiliate Accomplishments

"Shogun" takes home four Golden Globe awards, including best drama television series! We are so proud of MFA alum and co-showrunner Rachel Kondo!

The 97th Academy Award nominations are official! We are so proud of our alumni involved in these films! MFA alum Monique Walton produced Sing Sing, which has been nominated for 3 Oscars, and BS alum Drew Daniels was the cinematographer for Anora, which racked up 6 noms, including Best Picture!

This April, SCMS will be recognizing RTF scholars: Prof. Emeritus Janet Staiger: Distinguished Career Achievement Award; Maggie Steinhauer (PhD student): Distinguished Service Award; & Pete Johnson (PhD student): 3rd pl, Student Writing Award!

RTF screenwriting students are shaping the future of TV and film! The MFA screenwriting program draws people in based on its reputation. The two-year, 42-hour program is designed for creatives passionate about storytelling.

Kudos to RTF alum Andrew Wang, Head of TV at JuVee Productions! Amazon Prime has greenlit their latest project, an adaptation of Julie C. Dao’s book series, "Rise of the Empress." https://deadline.com/2025/01/rise-of-the-empress-tv-series-amazon-gemma-chan-1236263148/

A new collection that Prof. Kathy Fuller Seeley helped restore of short silent films from director/actor Francis Ford—the older brother of legendary filmmaker John Ford—along with a short doc she made about Ford’s career, screened at Museum of Modern Art on January 14.

Congrats to BS alum Drew Daniels on being on the longlist for a BAFTA award for Cinematography for Anora. The feature received 7 nominations, including Best Film! Congrats also to MFA alum Monique Walton: Sing Sing, which she produced, received 3 nominations!
