Born and raised along the Texas border, Andrea moved to Austin to pursue an M.A. in Media Studies. She holds a B.A. in Communication with a minor in English from Texas A&M International University, where she was named Distinguished Student Scholar for the College of Arts and Sciences.
In graduate school, Andrea developed an interest in marketing and branded entertainment. Her thesis examines audience responses to feminist messaging in the 2023 Barbie film and if it shaped perceptions of the brand.
Outside academia, Andrea enjoys creative pursuits. If she’s not at the theater, you’ll likely find her in a café, practicing calligraphy on a napkin.
