MFA Production Student

Shira Chait is an American-Israeli director and colorist. She was born and raised in New York and moved to Israel at the age of thirteen. A graduate of Tel Aviv University's dual-degree BA in Film Studies & American Studies, she has produced and directed several short films. Her independent films until today have focused on the liminality of national and personal identity, and especially on the experience of those in the seams between cultures. These themes continue to interest Shira as she begins her master’s degree in Film & Media Production at UT Austin, and she is very much looking forwards to expanding her artistic, academic, and professional horizons through collaborations with filmmakers from all around the world.
