Screenwriting Workshop: Features I

Do you have a great idea for a feature film? Many have great ideas; only few craft them into screenplays. In this 10-session workshop, learn screenwriting fundamentals as you develop an original feature film idea. You’ll create a pitch, logline, treatment, outline, and first act. While no previous screenwriting experience is required, please come prepared with ideas for a feature film. Having completed a college-level English course is also recommended.

Take either as a standalone course or continue on with Feature Screenwriting II.

Instructor: Carmen Brie

Named a 2021 Film Independent Episodic Lab Fellow, Carmen Brie is a screenwriter and published author from South Carolina. She received her MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Texas at Austin. Her pilot, Renaissance Girls, was a finalist in the Humanitas College Drama Fellowship competition, winner of the UT Foshko Screenplay Award, and is currently in the second round for Sundance Episodic Labs. Her feature, The Dark Lady, placed in the Austin Film Festival and the Screencraft Features competition. Carmen specializes in dramas about complicated, and often murderous, women.
