Submit your films to the 2026 UT RTF Longhorn Denius Student Film Showcase!
DEADLINE: Monday, January 26, 2026 - 11:59 pm CST.
Selected films will be included in a public screening in the spring (likely 3/12/26) and possibly in subsequent screenings (e.g., at the beginning of the fall semester). In addition, winners will receive film badges for the 2026 SXSW Film Festival and mentorship opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Films must have been completed for a UT RTF course after December 1, 2024.
- Films made for RTF 336 Special Projects in Radio-TV-Film do qualify.
- Films produced for RTF 304D only qualify via instructor recommendation.
- Films submitted to last year’s Showcase will not be eligible for re-submission.
- Multiple submissions are acceptable.
Considerations:
- You must own or have obtained all legal rights, clearances, and permissions necessary to exhibit the film, including the rights for images, text, copyrighted materials, and music included in the film.
- If your project is accepted, you will be asked to do the following:
- Sign a license-for-use agreement (if you have not already signed one).
Note: This agreement does NOT give away your rights to the film; it simply extends a revocable license for use to the university to screen and promote the film. - Submit a transcript and closed captioning
- Include in the film's end credits the department's logo and a disclaimer statement (per our specific usage guidelines)
- Sign a license-for-use agreement (if you have not already signed one).
- The showcase is currently scheduled to screen at AFS Cinema on Thursday, March 12, 2026 (subject to change).
To apply:
- You will need to upload your film/s online (password-protected is fine) and include the URL/s on the form.
- For each film you would like to submit, fill out a separate form:
