Marcus Raye Pérez is an actor, writer, and proud Latino with the stretch marks to prove it. He is originally from the small, South Texas town of Bishop and was most recently based in New York for 13 years. After graduating from Texas A&M University - Kingsville, he moved to NYC to dropout of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting after one semester and work in the world of Upper East Side restaurants for three years. After living his best "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "The Bear" life, he attended Mason Gross School Of The Arts at Rutgers University and has yet to receive his MFA in Acting degree (the paper) because he refuses to pay two parking tickets. He has since appeared on TV in shows like HBO's "High Maintenance" and "The Other Two," NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," and CBS' "The Equalizer." He also has appeared on stage in The Public’s Shakespeare In The Park production of Richard III starring Danai Gurira. As a writer, Marcus has been a part of Almanack Screenwriter’s Summer Episodic Lab with showrunner mentors Albert Kim and Meredith Scardino, as well as part of Amy Aniobi’s SuperSpecial Production’s TRIBE writing fellowship. He loves to write stories about families and communities that make fun of each other instead of going to therapy, and include roles for himself that old white people would never cast him in.
