Speaker Biography
David Tran is a distribution executive at Lionsgate where he supports decision-making on release strategies across all theatrical films. By drawing actionable insights from data and working across several strategy & analysis teams, his group serves to maximize the value of each film across all its distribution windows.
Getting his start as an assistant in the Theatrical Distribution department, David now leads the analysis team with touchpoints across a film’s lifecycle from greenlight to release. Over the past 8 years, he’s worked on films in all manners of scope and size from global franchises like John Wick and The Hunger Games to hit originals like Knives Out and La La Land.
David currently resides in Los Angeles, CA but originally hails from Houston, TX and holds a BA in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.
